Mabira Forest Reserve
Located in Central Uganda only 56km along the Kampala – Nairobi highway covers a total area of 306 sq km. It has 315 bird species, 312 tree species, 218 species of butterflies, 97 species of moths, 23 species of mammals including the red - tailed monkeys, vervets, grey-cheeked mangabays and many nocturnal animals.
Services offered are; forest walks, specialty bird watching, mountain biking to the Griffin Falls in the forest, environmental education (Study Tours) and many others. Basing here one can have a chance of visiting the source of the world’s longest river The Nile and white water rafting.
