Walk the short and long trail to Mubwindi swamp, then around Ruhija. One can also track Gorillas and Chimpanzees. This is optional

Birding “the Royal Mile” and Busingiro Area in Budongo Forest for more than 350 species including the Cassin’s Hawk Eagle, Nahan’s Francolin, Black-coloured Lovebird, Cassin’s and Sabine’s Spinetails

Bird watching in Murchison Falls National Park in the south of River Nile – around the Sambiya river and Paraa. Arrange the boat trip to the falls to see the endemics like Shoebill, Secretary bird, Bat Hawk, Four-banded Sandgrouse

In Kibale Forest National Park. Birding the entrance road to the forest, bird Kanyanchu area, Magombe swamp and Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary. Chimpanzee tracking is also possible here if one is interested.

Birding in Queen Elizabeth National Park around Mweya and the Ishasha sector (one can organize a game drive for tree climbing lions). Arrange for a boat ride at Kazinga Channel for countless water birds and in and around the crater area. Bird around Lake Kikorongo and Kasenyi track. There are high chances of seeing the Albertine Rift Endemics at Kyambura Gorge.

Birding in Lake Mburo National Park along the entrance road to Rwonyo, along Lakeside Track and Kigambira Loop. Take a launch cruise for the African Finfoot and Shoebill

Birding Lake Albert and the escarpment of the Albertine Rift Valley for the Albertine Rift Endemics.

Birding Semuliki National Park, preferably camping along the Kirumia River trail. It is also possible to watch rare birds in the Sempaya area. Bird Lake Albert, the gallery forest along the Mugiri river, the woodland towards Ntoroko and the Semuliki Flats.

Birding Rwenzori Mountains National Park - the fabled “Mountains of the Moon” for a total of 195 species, with 18 Albertine Rift Endemics like the Rwenzori Turaco, Rwenzori Batis, Montane nightjar, Dwarf Honeyguide and many more. Mountaineering is very common here and one can organize for a shorter foothill hike for 3 days but 6-7 days are required for a usual mountain loop.

Birding Maramagambo Forest. This is another place where one can see a number of forest birds. .

ES 17 Three Day

Birding Mgahinga Gorilla National Park for over 115 species in this Montane forest with an extensive belt of bamboo and regenerating pastures. Gorillas and Chimpanzees can also be tracked here.

ES 18 Two Days
Bird the different trailheads and routes of Mount Elgon National Park: the mixed montane forest. There is a chance to watch 296 birds including 40 restricted range species. The endangered Lammergeyer can be seen here. Anyone interested in mountaineering can do it here with an addition of time..
ES 19 Three- Five Days
Birding Kidepo Valley National Park located in the Kotido-Karamoja Province for a minimum of four days to make it worthwhile, concentrating on the dry Kidepo Valley and the granite outcrops like near Katenga in search for around 475 species, some of which are endemic like the Karamoja Apalis.Birding Moroto and the surrounding areas to see most of the northeastern “specials” totaling to 225 species, especially the Fox’s Weaver. This birding trip will give you a chance to watch birds around Soroti, Mountains Kadam and Morungole.
